Hope all you Wildmen made it out to the water to kick off trout season. We recently caught up with seasoned trout angler Kasey, who’s been fishing since she was old enough to hold a rod. When I asked how she got started, she shared a family tradition that shaped her love for the sport: “My dad and uncles had a yearly tradition where we’d all meet at a spot for the first day of trout season in PA when I was a kid. There are anglers, and then there are trout anglers. Me? I’ve always been drawn to bass and catfish. I’ve given trout fishing a shot, but it just doesn’t give me the same thrill as hooking into a smallmouth. But as April rolls around, trout season is about to kick off in most states—and my longtime friend and die-hard fisherman, Maddie M., can hardly wait. She’s been at it since she could walk—about 20 years now.
